Access and Equity operating principles
Aims to ensure that access to employment and training is available, regardless of gender, socioeconomic background, disability, ethnic origin, age or race.
Training services are delivered in a non-discriminatory, open and respectful manner.
Staffs are appropriately skilled in access and equity issues, including cultural awareness and sensitivity to the requirements of clients with special needs.
Facilities are updated to provide reasonable access to clients of all levels of mobility, and physical and intellectual capacity.
Conduct client selection for training opportunities in a manner that includes and reflects the diverse client population.
Actively encourages the attendance of clients from traditionally disadvantaged groups and specifically offers assistance to those most disadvantaged.
Provides culturally inclusive language, literacy and numeracy advice and assistance that assist clients in meeting personal training goals.
Is accountable for its performance in adhering to the principles of this policy, and welcomes feedback as part of its quality improvement system.
Staff and students are required to comply with access and equity requirements at all times.

Confidentiality and access to records
Student Information is collected in order to meet obligations under the ESOS Act and the National Code 2007; to ensure student compliance with the conditions of their visas and their obligations under Australian immigration laws generally. The authority to collect this information is contained in the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000, the Education Services for Overseas Students Regulations 2001 and the National Code of Practice for Registration Authorities and Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2007. Information collected can be provided, in certain circumstances, to the Australian Government and designated authorities and, if relevant, the Tuition Assurance Scheme and the ESOS Assurance Fund Manager. In other instances information collected can be disclosed without student consent where authorised or required by law.
Students wishing to access their own records must fill in the relevant form available at reception and put the request in writing to the Course Coordinator using the Student records request form The Course Coordinator will then arrange for supervised access at a mutually suitable time. Students must view their records at the College and cannot take records away from the College
