Course Description
This qualification covers a range of food processing industries, such as:
- Grain processing (including stockfeed, animal feeds, milling wheat, barley, oats
and flour milling)
- Baking (including large scale production of cakes, pastry, bread, biscuits and plant
baking)
- Beverages (including juices, soft drinks, cordials, aerated and still waters, energy
drinks and other
modified beverages, such as vitamin and antioxidant beverages, coffee, tea and ice)
- Confectionery
- Dairy processing
- Fruit and vegetables
- Grocery products and supplies (including honey, jams, spreads, sauces, dressings,
condiments, spices, edible oils and fats and pasta)
- Poultry
Entry Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years or above
- Achieve a minimum of 60% in Della’s LLN assessment
Job Roles
The Certificate III in Food Processing targets those performing production related roles that require an application of
industry specific skills and knowledge, including some technical and problem solving ability. This qualification caters
for multi-skilled outcomes and roles that include team leader functions within the production environment.
Certificate 3 Guarantee Program
The Certificate 3 Guarantee gives eligible Queenslanders access to a government subsidised training place, up to and
including their first post school certificate level III qualification .
Eligibility
The Certificate 3 Guarantee is for eligible Queenslanders who commenced a Certificate
level III course on or after 1 July 2013.
To be eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee a person must:
- Not hold or be already undertaking a Certificate III or higher level qualification
(Certificate III qualifications completed at school are not counted)
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have finished secondary school or left school
- Queensland resident—an Australian citizen or permanent resident living in Queensland,
or a New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Queensland (i. e. a person with
a New Zealand passport who can also produce documentary evidence of a Queensland
residential address)
- Employment status does not matter and nor is the any minimum education requirement,
only standard entry requirement for the course of study.

Refund policy
Certificate 3 Guarantee Program Student Contribution Refund
Students studying under the Certificate 3 Guarantee Program must complete Refund application form 7 days Prior
to commencing the course for a full refund. Students must also complete and submit with the refund application form
and Deferment/Suspension/Cancellation form in order to cancel the enrolment.
Students who have commenced studies will be entitled to a partial refund. Units will be refunded on unit by unit basis
for non commenced units
